OUR STORY

B.E. Remodeling grew from a simple realization: homeowners are often expected to make some of the biggest decisions about their homes while navigating a process they may only experience once or twice in their lifetime.

I’m Brittany E. Berning. I studied architecture at the University of Cincinnati’s DAAP program and began my career in architectural design before moving into residential remodeling, coordinating projects from bathrooms and kitchens to whole-home remodels and additions. Working alongside homeowners, designers, contractors, and trade partners gave me a behind-the-scenes understanding of how a project moves from an idea to construction.

Over time, I realized the part I loved most wasn’t simply the finished space. It was helping homeowners make sense of everything that came before it: defining what they wanted, understanding proposals and budgets, asking better questions, and keeping the many moving pieces organized.

Becoming a homeowner myself reinforced that perspective. A home is incredibly personal. The “right” decision isn’t always the most expensive, the most current, or what the experts would choose. It’s the one that makes sense for the people who live there.

That idea became B.E. Remodeling.

I help homeowners approach their projects with more clarity and confidence. Sometimes that means developing a roadmap before assembling a project team. Other times it means reviewing proposals, organizing decisions, or serving as an owner’s representative throughout construction.

And while design is what I love, B.E. is ultimately about making a home work beautifully for the people who live there—through thoughtful planning, good communication, practical decisions, and a little inspiration along the way.
